How it works

Our Subscribe & Save option makes it easy to restock your favorite bulk staples on a monthly schedule—while saving 10%.

When you’re charged vs. when we fulfill (important!)

Our subscriptions run on a 1st-of-the-month fulfillment schedule. That means billing and fulfillment timing are separate.

Billing timing

You’re charged immediately on the day you subscribe and check out.

When your items go into the fulfillment queue

  • If you start your subscription on any day other than the 1st:
    Your paid subscription items are added to our fulfillment queue on the 1st of the following month.
  • If you start your subscription on the 1st of the month:
    Your paid subscription items are added to the fulfillment queue that same day.

After that: recurring monthly renewals

All future recurring subscription orders are charged and added to the fulfillment queue on the 1st of every month.


What happens once your order is in the queue

Once an order joins the fulfillment queue, it is processed using standard internal operations:

  • Shipping orders follow standard shipping parameters.
  • Pickup orders follow the pickup parameters for the selected location as published on the Pickup Locations page.
  • Commonwealth Kitchen is a fulfillment/fill site and also a pickup option.


Managing Your Subscription (self-serve in your account)

You can manage your subscription anytime from your customer account. After you log in, scroll down to the “Subscriptions” section and click Manage.

You can:

  • Change quantities
  • Add products
  • Remove products
  • Add one-time items to an upcoming subscription order

And yes—the 10% subscription discount applies to any products you add to the subscription.

You can:

  • Reschedule your subscription
  • Skip an upcoming month
  • Charge early at any time

NOTE: If you charge early and reset your schedule, the subscription recalculates from that early charge, then realigns to the next 1st-of-month cycle.

You can update:

  • Shipping address
  • Billing address

You can:

  • Pause your subscription
  • Cancel your subscription at any time

You can edit your subscription notes (helpful for pickup/delivery preferences).


Pricing & Fees (what to expect)

Your 10% discount is always applied to the current product price at the time of renewal.
So if a product price changes, your next renewal reflects the updated price minus 10%.

Delivery/shipping fees are recalculated if you change any of the following:

  • Address
  • Fulfillment type (pickup ↔ delivery ↔ shipping)
  • Products in the subscription (add/remove/quantity)

If A Payment Fails

If a charge doesn’t go through, we’ll retry up to 3 times, with 1 day between retries.
If it still fails after that, the subscription is marked Canceled and no future charges will occur.


Discount Rules

• Subscribe & Save includes a built-in 10% discount

• Discounts do not stack (only one discount can apply to a subscription order)



What happens on the 1st of each month (our recurring run)

Every month on the 1st:

  1. Your subscription renewal is charged automatically.
  2. A new order is created.
  3. It enters our fulfillment queue.
  4. We process it based on your selected method: shipping, or pickup timing/location rules, or delivery rules.

Changes that “rebuild” your next order (aka: we recalculate everything)

Any of these updates will cause the system to recalculate your upcoming subscription order:

  • Add/remove products
  • Quantity changes
  • Switch fulfillment method (pickup ↔ delivery ↔ shipping)
  • Address change
  • Early charge + schedule reset
  • Skip cycle / reschedule actions
