This brown rice is the short grain version. Brought to you by popular demand. It comes from California, certified organic, and of course, naturally gluten free.
Short-grain brown rice is more dense and binds together well.
Cooking Instructions
Use a 2:1 water to rice ratio. Rinse 1 cup rice well before combining with 2 cups water and a hefty pinch or half a teaspoon of salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce heat, and cover. Let simmer for 50 minutes without stirring! After 50 minutes or when water has been absorbed, remove from heat, let sit 5 minutes covered, then fluff with a fork and serve. For additional flavor, use broth instead of water and add a tablespoon or two of butter with the salt.
